COIT Chair

About us

The COIT Chair in Regulation and Public Policies has its origin in an initiative of the Spanish Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación and the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, as a continuation of a long mutual collaboration in research, training and creation of studies and reporting activities within the scope of Information and Communication Technologies. Said activities have materialised in the last years as studies, analyses and prospects on sector policies and their regulation; courses, studies and experiments on infrastructures and broadcasts; student training – scholarships associated to the projects; and other reports and activities of social and corporate interest.

As a result of this collaboration we can underline the coordination of the Telecommunications Regulation Group, the publication of several books and reports resulting from the activities of said group and the management of the Telecommunications Forum and its results. All these activities have become reference elements widely recognised in the Information and Communications Technologies sector.

The general purpose of the COIT Chair is to cover all activities required by COIT in the scope of the information and communications sector and for which the UPM can provide the appropriate support. The results of the activities carried out by the COIT Chair may represent the base of several training and diffusion activities (conferences, forums, seminars, etc.) organised by COIT, UPM and, particularly, the ETSI Telecomunicación.
