COIT Chair

There are basically three types of activities carried out by the core of the Chair:

• The first line of action, focused on the ICT sector and the public Administration, considers regulation and public policies, in order to generate opinion in the short term on these issues, doing so from a professional point of view allowing to express the sensitivities of the sector. In this line of activity, a group of experts made up by professionals of proven experience is coordinated (GRETEL).
• The second line of action (focused on professionals) aims at improving the knowledge of the evolution of the sector itself. Its objective is to generate analyses, opinion and strategic positioning in the medium term in issues regarding COIT's professional interests, linked to the technological evolution and its implications in terms of opportunities, business and market. In this line of activity a group of experts made up by specialists in the technologies identified as priority in their respective markets is coordinated  .
• The third line of action, aimed to the social sphere, and particularly on a local and regional basis, focuses on the development of the Information Society. Its objective is to contribute to the development of the Information Society in the local scope through professional knowledge and oriented towards the mid to long term.
• Additionally, the COIT Chair has the general purpose of covering all activities required by the COIT in the information and communications sector sphere and for which the UPM can provide adequate support.
